Walking into Replay Entertainment Exchange on a Thursday night might be a shocking experience if you don’t know what to expect. The resale shop, which buys and sells used video games, CDs and movies, takes a break from business as usual to pop popcorn, crack open a few cans of Mountain Dew, and watch an awful movie with a crowd of its closest friends and customers who hurl insults at the screen.

I chose to forgo the question of the week because I just learned of the sudden passing this weekend of a colleague and mentor of mine, professor Tom Luster. Tom was a professor in the Department of Family and Child Ecology here at MSU where I did my studies. Pedicab works for tips, love of biking in E.L.

Wearing a black leather jacket reminiscent of Johnny Ramone, well-manicured facial hair and a big grin, Tony Benedict, owner of Pure Power Pedicab, is East Lansing’s one and only bicycle taxi. Benedict, an East Lansing resident and former paramedic, has been serving the East Lansing community since November 2008 with his human-powered mode of transportation.
