Old Town BluesFest celebrates 15th anniversary

Despite its name, Old Town felt young as people of all ages lined the streets to listen to the tunes of the 15th annual Old Town BluesFest in Lansing. Festival coordinator Sharen Lange said the event showed local citizens how much the area has transformed into a new atmosphere.

Spartan has passion for trashy beaches

Gabby Kleber spent her summer hitting beaches across the world. The chemical engineering senior wasn’t sunning herself or sipping umbrella drinks under a palm tree — visiting seven countries, she got her hands dirty collecting trash as part of a $9,000 grant from the Circumnavigators Club of Michigan.
