‘So You Think You Can Dance’ visitor to perform, discuss residency

Elizabeth Baker-Rozell, a junior in the Residential College in the Arts and Humanities, or RCAH, has danced for about 20 years, and said her passion for the art form has made her excited for performer Billy Bell’s visit. Bell, who was on FOX’s “So You Think You Can Dance” this past year, will perform at 7 p.m. Monday in the RCAH Theatre in Snyder and Phillips halls.

Students volunteer to inspire teenagers interested in art careers

Hailey Chenevert started working with a local art center as a class assignment. But what began as a requirement turned into a chance for her to form meaningful relationships by mentoring teenagers. More than a year later, the senior in the Residential College in the Arts and Humanities said she still is committed to the REACH Studio Art Center, 1804 S. Washington Ave., in Lansing.

Music school to hold band camp

The MSU Community Music School will host Rock Camp, a series of weekly classes during which middle and high school students have the opportunity to learn how to start, manage and perform in a band. The camp will run from 6-9 p.m. Monday through April 25 at 841 Timberlane St.
