In 2013, a crowdfunding campaign named ‘Extreme Makeover: Sparty Edition’ was held, attempting to raise $15,000 to improve Sparty’s armor. The fundraising goal was met, and the new Sparty debuted on Oct 22, 2014. The improved costume changes the ‘S’ on the shoulder pads to the spartan helmet logo and features MSU’s current dark-green color scheme.
Today, Sparty continues to perform at MSU events, cheering on sports teams, students and staff alike, and his popularity is enduring.
