<p>In 2013, a crowdfunding campaign named ‘<a href="http://givingto.msu.edu/crowdpower/sparty-makeover.cfm">Extreme Makeover: Sparty Edition</a>’ was held, attempting to raise $15,000 to improve Sparty’s armor. The fundraising goal was met, and the new Sparty <a href="http://detroit.cbslocal.com/2014/08/29/see-spartys-new-look-at-msu-vs-jacksonville-state-game/">debuted</a>  on Oct 22, 2014. The improved costume changes the ‘S’ on the shoulder  pads to the spartan helmet logo and features MSU’s current dark-green  color scheme.</p><p>Today,  Sparty continues to perform at MSU events, cheering on sports teams,  students and staff alike, and his popularity is enduring.</p>
