Michigan State women’s basketball sophomore guard Abbey Kimball was named to the women's basketball 2023-2024 Academic All-District Team. Kimball was selected by College Sports Communicators, or CSC, and the announcement was made on Tuesday afternoon. She was the only player from Michigan State to be selected.

The Academic All-District Women’s Basketball team recognizes the nation’s top student-athletes for both their performances inside the classroom and on the hardwood floor.

Kimball had a breakout season, starting all 31 games for the Spartans. Throughout the season, Kimball averaged 7.8 points and 4.3 rebounds per game and was a key part of the dominant Michigan State offense that averaged 82.8 points per game in the regular season.

Kimball also shot 42.4% from the field and 36.4% from three-point range, the fourth-highest on the team. She also finished the season with a 94.1% free throw percentage, the highest on the team.

Inside the classroom, Kimball is a marketing major and currently has a 3.71 grade point average

Kimball is the first Spartan to earn the honor of being named to the Academic All-District Team since former Michigan State player Matilda Ekh and current player Isaline Alexander, who were both selected last year.
