Michigan State Head Women's Basketball Coach Suzy Merchant was released from Sparrow Hospital and is currently at home resting, the team announced Monday morning.

She was involved in a minor one vehicle accident Saturday morning caused by a health incident that prevented her from traveling with the team for their game against Illinois on Sunday.

It is unclear when Merchant will be returning to her position as head coach, but Associate Head Coach Dean Lockwood has assumed the interim position in her absence.

MSU Women's Basketball is set to take on Nebraska on the road Thursday at 8:30 p.m. and no. 13 Michigan on Sunday at 3 p.m. at the Breslin Center.
