A 26-year-old Clarkston woman faces two criminal charges after she allegedly stole a vehicle with two people inside earlier this month.

Officers were dispatched to the MSU Union after a vehicle was reported stolen the night of Oct. 13. The vehicle was stopped and the driver, Darlene Hogan, was arrested on charges of unlawfully driving away an automobile and operating while intoxicated, Michigan State University Police Department Capt. Doug Monette said.

The MSUPD Clery Crime & Fire Log shows there was an additional offense of kidnapping recorded. The Ingham County Prosecutor's office did not issue kidnapping charges.

"The vehicle was taken, there were two people inside the vehicle," Monette said.

Hogan was given a $2,500 bond. A preliminary examination is scheduled for Nov. 1 in 54-B District Court.

Earlier this month, a social media post circulated about another incident involving the MSU Union. The incident involved a woman allegedly connected to a sex trafficking loop.

The post said the woman asked for an MSU student's phone and asked for the student's name and asked them if they could go to the Union. The student later received texts asking "where are you" and blocked the number.

A report regarding the incident was filed and there is no threat to the community, MSUPD said in a Facebook post.
