MSU football has announced its nonconference schedules for upcoming seasons, according to a Wednesday press release from MSU Athletic Communications.
MSU Announces its Nonconference Football Schedules Through 2020
Both the 2018 and 2019 seasons will open with first-ever matchups for the Spartans.
On Sept. 1, 2018, MSU will play Utah State at Spartan Stadium, followed by a home-and-home series against Arizona State that begins on Sept. 8 in Sun Devil Stadium. The 2018 nonconference season concludes with a home game against Central Michigan on Sept. 29.
The 2019 season begins with a home match against Tulsa on Aug. 31, followed by two more home games against Western Michigan on Sept. 7 and Arizona State on Sept. 14.
MSU will also play BYU for the second time in history, making a premiere visit to LaVar Edwards Stadium on Sept. 12, 2020 before returning to Spartan Stadium for two games against Toledo on Sept. 19 and Miami (Florida) on Sept. 26.
Other scheduled games include a match at Miami (Florida) on Sept. 18, 2021, and two games against Boise State on Sept. 17, 2022 and Sept. 16, 2023.
