Donald Trump won the California Primary, furthering his nomination lead. According to Real Clear Politics, he took home all 172 delegates. Ted Cruz called California, "the big enchilada" months ago.

The Associated Press called the race, on Tuesday, June 7.

Trump criticized over comments on judge

Faced with lawsuits over his Trump University, Trump questioned the fairness of the judge presiding over the case, saying the judge would be biased given his “Mexican heritage.”

Trump discussed his questioning of the judge with CNN’s Jake Tapper, where he frequently went back to talking about the wall he planned to build on the U.S.-Mexico border.

Trump has received backlash from members of his own party for his comments. Newt Gingrich called Trump's comments "inexcusable."

Trumps responds to the Orlando shooting in tweets

Initially, Donald Trump took note after his last comments following a shooting and tweeted while the Orlando shooting was being investigated.

But, after that Trump began to become more aggressive on the issue.

Members of both parties spoke out on his statements with anger.

Clinton wins California and New Jersey

With the largest amount of delegates on the line, Clinton won in California on June 7. Clinton also took the win in New Jersey to add to her delegate growth.

AP declares Clinton Democratic nominee

Clinton exceeded the required 2,838 delegates needed to become the presumptive nominee. In a surprising turn, the Associated Press named Clinton the nominee on Monday, June 6.

NBC and ABC quickly confirmed the nomination. Clinton made history to be the first woman to be a major party's nominee for President of the United States.

Sanders will continue campaign through convention

Following the Sanders poor performance in the California primary and Clinton clinching the nomination, calls for Sanders to drop out of the race have begun from the Democratic party.

Sanders has yet to endorse Clinton and plans to stay in the race.

In an interview with ABC "This Week" Sanders said, "Will she go as far as I would like her to go? No, she won't," he said. "But I think millions of people want to understand and see is what kind of commitment she has to addressing the real crises in the country."

Sanders will continue his campaign up to the Democratic convention and said, "The Democratic National Convention will be a contested convention," according to CNN.
