MSU employee accused of embezzling more than $100,000

April 28, 2015

A former MSU employee was charged with embezzling upwards of $100,000 and could stand trail next month, according to the Lansing State Journal.

The woman is Brandi Eileen Moody, a former administration assistant in the MSU College of Osteopathic Medicine and MSU Spokesperson Jason Cody told the LSJ she had been suspected of embezzling last August and was subsequently removed from her position.

MSU police Sgt. Florene McGlothian-Taylor said she couldn't comment on the case and directed questions to the Ingham County Prosecutor's Office, who has not responded to requests for information.

The Ingham County Circuit Court documents list the judge as Joyce Draganchuk and the offense is dated to December 2011.

Before that, she was arraigned in 54B District Court in East Lansing and was arraigned in November under Judge Richard Ball, prosecuted by Ingham County Prosecutor Stuart Dunnings.

Moody's bond was set at $10,000, according to court documents.

She is being defended by attorney John English.

A final pretrial conference is expected before the case goes to trail, according to the LSJ.
