HopCat offering free meals to veterans Tuesday

November 11, 2014

For Veteran’s Day today, HopCat in East Lansing is be offering free meals to any military veterans and active duty military personnel. The offer extends to the other two HopCat locations in Grand Rapids and Indianapolis.

This offer is valid all day and includes any choice of entrée, salad, or sandwich along with a soft drink. Gratuity and alcoholic beverages are not included.

When asked how the idea for offer came about, BarFly Ventures (HopCat’s Parent Company) communication and marketing director Chris Knape said they were discussing small ways in which they could contribute to Veterans Day.

“We figured we would do what we do best,” Knape said. “It’s one way of showing them they’re appreciated.”

Knape also said a lot of HopCat’s regular customers are veterans and also said they have “quite a few veteran employees.”

The offer is limited to one meal per veteran or active duty personnel. Proof of military service is required.
