The MSU student section has been under fire this season for poor attendance at home football games, and athletic director Mark Hollis is searching for a solution.
Before Saturday’s game against Ohio State, Hollis told ABC 57 that he is looking into the possibility of heating the student section at Spartan Stadium.
Hollis previously expressed disappointment in the student section after fans had emptied the section by the end of the Nebraska game.
Inclement weather has been an issue for students staying the duration of games, and with a heating system at the Stadium, students might be able to combat Michigan weather, which might inspire them to stay for all four quarters of the football game.
Hollis, the man who once thought up the idea of playing a basketball game aboard an aircraft carrier, has developed a reputation for out-of-the-box ideas, and a heating system in Spartan Stadium would certainly be an addition to that list.
