Police: Reported assault was false

April 2, 2014

An alleged assault that was said to have taken place on March 23 is now being said to have been a false report, according to a statement released by MSU police Sgt. Florene McGlothian-Taylor.

According to the statement, after talking to family of the alleged victim, police determined that the victim had made the story up.

She originally alleged that around 12:30 a.m. she had a struggle with a man who hit her in the face with an unspecified object while the second man watched.

She told police the two men then saw a car and began to walk towards the Sparty Statue and ran toward Yakeley Hall.
