DNA collected from the scene after the shooting of MSU student Dominique Nolff's indicates the man accused of shooting him was on scene and likely fought with him before he died, according to court documents.

During a court hearing held March 20, East Lansing police Detective Dan Brown testified Grand Rapids resident Marquay McCoy, 19, entered Nolff's residence on Jan. 31, had a brief conversation with Nolff and his roommate and then pulled out a silver handgun to steal medical marijuana and a laptop.
The altercation, which occurred at Nolff's apartment on Cedar Street, ended in his death.
Court transcripts from the hearing indicate McCoy's DNA was collected from blood samples at the scene.
McCoy is facing charges of open murder and armed robbery. He waived his preliminary hearing Friday and is scheduled for another court date May 8.
