The East Lansing woman believed to be missing has contacted her family and assured them of her safety.

Police were dispatched on Nov. 16 to the home of 23-year-old Sarah Jane Jackson on a report of unknown trouble, according to a statement from the East Lansing Police Department.

When authorities arrived at the scene, it was determined Jackson had fled home with the father of two of her three children.

Jackson contacted her family Monday night from a restricted phone number to tell them she was OK. Police now believe she is missing voluntarily and that she is not in danger.

All of Jackson’s belongings are still in her home, and police are not seeking criminal charges.
