Here in East Lansing, 7-Eleven hosts the annual 7-Eleven Day, or what is more commonly referred to as Free Slurpee Day every year on July 11. Children, students and adults came into 918 E. Grand River Ave., to enjoy their free Slurpee and complimentary cookie as a break from their regular Thursday afternoon.

This year, customers enjoyed the normal small 12-ounce size instead of the traditional 7.11-ounce free Slurpee that was given away in past years. 7-Eleven expects to give away about 7 million Slurpees this 7-Eleven Day, an increase from the 4.5 million in 2011, according to an article on Time.com.
