No leads regarding stolen permits, police say

February 17, 2013

Several university parking permits have been “pilfered” while being sent through the mail, MSU Police Assistant Director Tony Kleibecker said.

Kleibecker said at least four multi-car parking permits, complete with a suction cup to move them from car to car, were reported missing from the sealed envelopes sent by the department to members of the MSU community.

He said about 100 permits were sent in several different batches through the U.S. Postal Service from mid-December to Feb. 5.

In the four cases, those who purchased the permits received a sealed envelope but found no permits inside, he said.

Kleibecker said there are no suspects and the department is working with a postal inspector to investigate the matter.
