The MSU women’s golf team took third place at the Mason Rudolph Championship in Franklin, Tenn., this weekend.

The Spartans ( 33) finished eight shots behind Arizona ( 25) and five shots behind Virginia ( 28).

Senior Caroline Powers finished three shots behind the winner and tied for second in the individual standings after shooting 3 for the tournament.

Junior Allyssa Ferrell was the next highest Spartan in the standings by tying for 10th with a 7.

The 897 shots MSU took as a team is their second lowest of the season, only more than the 882 they shot at their home tournament at Forest Akers West in September.

The women’s golf team returns to action at the Tar Heel Invitational from Oct. 12-14 in Chapel Hill, N.C.
