Spartans lead Seminoles, 30-26, at halftime

The MSU men’s basketball team heads into halftime leading Florida State, 30-26, at Breslin Center in the Big Ten/ACC Challenge.

The Spartans (4-2) used an 13-point run to push the lead to 30-18, before the Seminoles (5-2) had an eight-point streak of their own.

MSU struggled with Florida State’s athleticism and rebounding in the first several minutes, falling behind 9-4.

Following an timeout called by head coach Tom Izzo, the Spartans went on a 7-0 run to tie the ball game at 9-9.

Senior guard Brandon Wood leads the Spartans with 10 points, with senior forward Draymond Green and sophomore guard Keith Appling adding seven points each.

The Spartans shot 5-for-10 from behind the arc. The team came into the game shooting 23 percent from 3-point range.

Forward James Bernard leads the Seminoles with 11 points and nine rebounds.

The Big Ten leads the ACC, 4-2, in this year’s Big Ten/ACC Challenge.
