Potter Park Zoo gets in holiday spirit

November 27, 2011

The 19th annual Wonderland of Lights kicked off Friday at Potter Park Zoo, 1301 S. Pennsylvania Ave., and visitors will enjoy thousands of shimmering lights and seasonal activities until Dec. 23.

From 5-8 p.m. every Thursday through Sunday, guests can listen to live musical performances, view animal presentations, participate in crafts and see Santa and Mrs. Claus.

A new addition to this year’s Wonderland includes Potter Park Zoo’s three Amur tiger cubs, who will make their public debut in the Feline/Primate House starting the week of Dec. 3.

Sponsored by Ingham Regional Medical Center, admission to the park is $4 for adults, $3 for seniors, $2 for kids ages 3-16, and free for kids under age 3. Parking is free for all visitors and strollers can be rented upon arrival.

Potter Park Zoo also will host an annual breakfast with Santa from 8:30-10:30 a.m., on Dec. 10. Reservations are required and can be made by calling (517) 342-2709. More information can be found on the Potter Park Zoo website at potterparkzoo.org.
