Officials request students take survey

April 5, 2011

The Office of Campus Sustainability and Campus Planning and Administration launched an online survey Sunday to find out ways to build a “greener” transportation system at MSU.

Any undergraduate or graduate student that received the survey via email is encouraged to complete it.

Among other things, the survey is intended to help the offices find out how issues such as schedules, environmental priorities, personal preference and economics play into students’ choice of a mode of transportation. The data also will be used to help enhance MSU’s transportation system and provide options that promote environmental sustainability.

The survey also asks questions about different forms of transportation — including walking, biking and motor vehicles — to determine how heavily each form is used and how the university can improve its environmental footprint and improve campus safety among all the different groups.
