Men's soccer falls at Penn State, 2-1

The No. 18 men’s soccer team suffered its second straight Big Ten road loss with a 2-1 result at Penn State on Sunday.

The Spartans (8-3 overall, 1-2 Big Ten) took an early lead with a junior forward Brent Rosendall score, but allowed two second-half goals to the Nittany Lions (8-3, 1-2).

MSU was outshot 23-6 in the game, committed 19 fouls and was caught offsides five times.

Rosendall’s goal was assisted by senior midfielder Jeff Ricondo. Senior goalie Avery Steinlage had 11 saves on the day.

MSU takes the field against Western Michigan at 4 p.m. Wednesday at DeMartin Stadium at Old College Field.
