Students informed of tailgating times

August 31, 2010

MSU is reminding football fans of tailgating times and rules for the upcoming season. If a game begins at noon or 1 p.m., parking lots are scheduled to open at 7 a.m. while lots will open at 9 a.m. for games with 3:30 p.m. kickoffs. Night games, like the Notre Dame game on September 18, have an 8 p.m. kickoff and parking lots will open at 1 p.m.

All parking lots are scheduled to stay open up to three hours after the end of a game.

The “open container” ordinance, which bans open containers of alcohol on campus, will be temporarily suspended on home football games while parking lots remain open for tailgating.

Munn Field and pedestrian areas next to Spartan Stadium are designated alcohol-free areas.
