Man arrested for weapons violation

September 7, 2010

A man initially pulled over on for speeding was arrested for a weapons violation Monday after he was found carrying a double-edged switchblade knife, MSU police Sgt. Paul Kuchek said.

The 21-year-old male, a resident of Southfield, Mich., was stopped near the intersection of Harrison Road and Michigan Avenue, Kuchek said. The four-inch knife was found in his car after the officer who pulled him over performed a search of the vehicle.

The man was arrested and brought into the police station where his case was processed and he was released. Warrants will be sought for a weapons violation, Kuchek said.
