Freshmen fifteen Q's: 3/30/10

Haley

College is a new world for freshmen traveling campus for the first time. The State News sat down with one of these explorers to get a glimpse, in 15 questions, at a new face on campus and his perspective of his new frontier.

Meet Tyler Haley

1. Who is your favorite fictional character?
Dr. Jane from “The Mentalist.” He’s the coolest guy.

2. What is the last thing you Googled?
I think I looked up the answer to a crossword puzzle.

3. What is your dream job after graduation?
I wanted to go into aeronautical engineering, but eventually I want to open up my own karate dojo and teach.

4. If you could be one animal, what would it be?
Snow leopard. They fascinate me and they’re cool. Who wouldn’t want to be a snow leopard?

5. Would you rather go through an entire year of freezing cold temperatures or go to class in your underwear one day?
I would definitely go to class in my underwear. That is not even a question.

6. If I gave you $1 million right now, what would you buy?
Probably the rest of my schooling, and then I would buy my mom a house.

7. What’s your least favorite trait in the opposite sex?
When they always do that inflection with their voice and they always sound like a question with everything they say.

8. If you could try one thing once that is usually fatal and have no repercussions, what would you do?
Jump out of an airplane without a parachute.

9. If you could have a tea party with three famous people, who would you invite?
Well, I don’t really drink tea, but I’ve always wanted to meet Will Ferrell so him, to keep it fun. Probably somebody important, like George W. Bush, and I want to meet Spiderman.

10. How do you feel about vampires?
I think it would be cool to be a vampire, except I like the sun. I feel like I’d be freaked out if a vampire said, “I want to suck your blood.”

11. What’s your biggest pet peeve?
People talking behind each other’s backs.

12. What is one thing you could not live without?
My eyes. If I couldn’t see, I don’t know what I would do.

13. Words to live by?
Everyone deserves respect, and I’ve always been told if you’re going to dream, dream big.

14. Any advice to incoming freshmen next year?
Really, just get out and meet as many people as you can.

15. What is your favorite thing to do while procrastinating?
Either play guitar or just be out there doing sports.
