Center to show Bollywood film

MSU’s Asian Studies Center is presenting a screening of Bollywood’s, “The Sky Below” at 6:30 p.m. Thursday in Room B-106 of Wells Hall.

A discussion with the director, Sarah Singh, will take place after the showing. The film deals with the 1927 partition of the Indian subcontinent and the
creation of Pakistan as a country.

Subramanian Shankar, director of South Asian Studies at the University of Hawaii at Manoa will present “Bollywood: A Social and Historical Introduction” on Friday, as a follow-up to the event taking place on Thursday. The presentation will take place from 3-4 p.m. in Room 303 of International Center. Admission is free.
