Sponsored by the MSU College of Music, The MSU Opera Theatre and Symphony Orchestra are joining forces for the production of “Susannah,” which will have its opening night 8 p.m. Friday at the Auditorium. The show also will run at 8 p.m. Saturday and 3 p.m. Sunday. Carlisle Floyd’s retelling of the biblical story is one of the most frequently produced American operas.
Set in rural Tennessee, the narrative tells the tale of a young woman who is dismissed from her community. A lecture will be held 45 minutes before each performance to provide background information on the production.
