Lansing Center to host boat show

January 12, 2009

The Lansing Center, 333 E. Michigan Ave., in Lansing, will host the 11th annual Lansing Boat Show on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The show will feature six boat dealers from the area, showcasing the latest powerboats and boating supplies at deeply discounted prices. Ernie Hedberg, the show’s promoter, said the slow economy has created an incredible buyer’s market.

Hedberg said he expected to see anywhere between 3,000 and 5,000 people at the show. The boat show offers people a welcome respite from the dull, harsh winter weather, he said.

Admission is free all day Friday. Doors open at noon and will close at 9 p.m. Tickets will be available for purchase Saturday and Sunday, and will cost $5 for adults. Admission is free for children under 17. The show will be open 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday.
