'Magic' cancels book signing date

December 1, 2008

The anticipated book signing by Earvin “Magic” Johnson has been canceled.

Barnes & Noble Booksellers, 333 E. Grand River Ave., was informed Monday that circumstances arose and Johnson could not appear.

He was scheduled to sign copies of his latest book, “32 Ways to Be a Champion in Business,” at the store today.

“We’re not sure what happened,” said Marc Cook, Barnes & Noble manager. “We weren’t given a reason, but we’re not going to jump to conclusions and think something bad happened. It’s understandable and we hope we can reschedule sometime in the future.”
