Three people involved in April’s Cedar Fest riot were sentenced Friday to 80 hours of community service and 24 months probation.
Molly M. Bingham, an MSU sophomore who pleaded guilty to the misdemeanor offense of disorderly conduct by assembling to riot, was sentenced by East Lansing 54-B District Court Judge David L. Jordon.
Bingham also is required to pay $2,214.40 in total fines and costs.
The court also issued an order prohibiting her from entering or enrolling in any Michigan public community college or university for one year, starting Dec. 12.
Cassandra L. Thompson, a hospitality business senior who pleaded guilty to the misdemeanor offense of disorderly conduct by assembling to riot, also was sentenced by Jordon.
Thompson also is required to pay $2,214.40 in total fines and costs.
The court also issued an order prohibiting Thompson from entering or enrolling in any Michigan public community college or university for one year.
Tyler B. Murray, of Grand Rapids, pleaded guilty to the misdemeanor offense of indecent exposure and was sentenced by Jordon.
Murray also is required to pay $2,294.40 in total fines and costs.
Of those fines, $1,074.40 is restitution to the city of East Lansing for police and emergency expenses and property damages incurred during the riot.
The court also issued an order prohibiting Murray from entering or enrolling in any Michigan public community college or university campus until Aug. 15, 2009.
