Barack Obama’s presidential campaign has created a new incentive for MSU students to register to vote.
The campaign announced Sunday a competition between MSU and the University of Michigan to register the most voters by Oct. 6, the last day to register to vote in the Nov. 4 election.
The competition, called the Gridiron Challenge, treats each day as a “game,” with the school that registers the most voters gaining a point toward its overall record. The university with the most games won on Oct. 6 will win the “season” and receive a visit from a special guest at the respective U-M and MSU College Democrats tailgates Oct. 25 in Ann Arbor.
As of Sunday, MSU was trailing U-M two wins to one.
