Arraignment waived for Williams

April 2, 2008

Former sophomore cornerback-wide receiver T.J. Williams waived his right to an arraignment Wednesday at the Ingham County Circuit Court on charges of aggravated assault and larceny from person.

The charges stem from an April 2007 robbery and assault at L & L Food Center, 6075 N. Hagadorn Road.

Williams, former MSU linebacker SirDarean Adams and sophomore cornerback Jeremy Ware initially were charged with unarmed robbery in connection with the case. The charge was dismissed for all three men, but charges of aggravated assault and larceny from person were later added to Williams’ case.

Williams does not have any further hearings scheduled, but a court clerk said a pretrial conference will be held sometime in the next two to three weeks.

Williams also faces a charge of misdemeanor assault and battery from a separate incident on the same night as the robbery. A pretrial hearing is scheduled for 11 a.m. Tuesday at Mason’s 55th District Court.
