MRULE hosts Empty Bowls fundraiser

March 13, 2008

Multi-Racial Unity Living Experience, or MRULE, is co-sponsoring a fundraiser to fight hunger, poverty and HIV/AIDS 5 p.m. Sunday at Hannah Community Center, 819 Abbot Road.

The Empty Bowls fundraiser will include games, crafts and a small meal for a donation toward assisting children affected by HIV/AIDS in South Africa and Kenya, said Jeanne Gazel, MRULE co-founder.

Half of the proceeds from the event will go toward feeding orphans in South Africa, said Rachel Frank, the event organizer and former MRULE student leader.
