Police Brief 02/21/08

Camera stolen from cafeteria table

February 20, 2008

Editor’s note: This brief was corrected to accurately describe the camera.

A Nikon D200 digital SLR camera and lens, valued at about $1,200, was stolen from the Snyder-Phillips Hall cafeteria between 1:30 and 2:10 p.m. Tuesday, MSU police Sgt. Florene McGlothian-Taylor said. A 17-year-old Farmington Hills resident visiting MSU placed the camera in his friend’s purse, then left the purse on a cafeteria table to get food, McGlothian-Taylor said. He didn’t realize the camera was missing until he finished his meal about 40 minutes later. There are no suspects in the case and it is still under investigation, McGlothian-Taylor said.
