A waste can, a foot bridge and two trees near the Main Library were spray-painted last week, causing an estimated $500 worth of damage, MSU police Sgt. Florene McGlothian-Taylor said. A 42-year-old university employee reported that the waste can and foot bridge were spray-painted black and green sometime between 4 p.m. on Nov. 9 and 8 a.m. on Nov. 12, McGlothian-Taylor said. The same employee said initials had been spray-painted on the two 100-year-old trees located near Beal Botanical Garden sometime between 4 p.m. Tuesday and 7 a.m. Wednesday, McGlothian-Taylor said.
