November 12, 2007

Cash stolen from dorm

Nearly $200 in cash was stolen from a West Wilson Hall resident’s purse Saturday night, MSU police Sgt. Florene McGlothian-Taylor said. An 18-year-old female student told police that one $100 bill, three $20 bills and six $5 bills were taken from a purse in her dorm room, McGlothian-Taylor said. The victim said she left her dorm room between 11:30 p.m. Saturday and 12:30 a.m. Sunday and returned to find the cash missing. Her door was closed but unlocked at the time. A 20-year-old male student is a suspect in the theft, but MSU police have yet to make contact with him, McGlothian-Taylor said. The investigation is ongoing.
