Spartans earn All-Big Ten accolades

November 20, 2007

Members of the conference media voted senior defensive lineman Jonal Saint-Dic first-team All-Big Ten, making him the only Spartan to receive first-team honors.

Saint-Dic broke the Big Ten record for forced fumbles in a season with eight. He ranked fourth in the Big Ten with 10 sacks.

“Jonal Saint-Dic certainly has a knack for making big plays,” head coach Mark Dantonio said in a statement.

Despite leading the Big Ten in receiving yards and all-purpose yards and ranking second in receptions per game, junior wide receiver Devin Thomas was not named to the elite All-Big Ten first team.

Conference coaches voted Thomas, junior running back Javon Ringer and Saint-Dic to the All-Big Ten second team.

Similarly, the media selected Thomas and Ringer to the second team but also voted senior offensive lineman Pete Clifford to the lineup.

Conference media named Ringer as one of 11 Big Ten sportsmanship award honorees.
