Criminal contempt hearing held for state police officer

November 11, 2007

At a criminal contempt hearing Friday, a Michigan State Police detective pleaded not guilty to violating a gag order placed on the case involving alleged serial killer Matthew Macon.

Michigan State Police Detective Lt. Jamie Corona told the Lansing State Journal last month that Macon confessed to the 2005 slaying of a Lansing Community College professor after being arrested in connection with five Lansing murders dating back to July.

Macon has not been charged in the death of LCC professor Carolyn Kronenberg. Lansing resident Claude McCollum spent about a year and a half in prison for Kronenberg’s death before being exonerated late last month.
