Laptop stolen at Brody

A Macbook laptop was stolen from an 18-year-old Bryan Hall resident Saturday morning, MSU police Sgt. Florene McGlothian-Taylor said. The female student was sitting in the dorm’s laundry room around 3 a.m. Saturday when six to eight males entered the room and began talking to her, McGlothian-Taylor said. In the process of talking with the student, one of the suspects grabbed the black laptop, valued at $1,300, and ran out the door with it. Another male in the room told the victim she would get the laptop, which belonged to her roommate, if she came outside to retrieve it. The victim did not oblige and the suspects dispersed, McGlothian-Taylor said.

A 19-year-old male student sitting in a courtyard outside the dorm reported seeing six to eight males leaving the area but didn’t notice if they were carrying a laptop, McGlothian-Taylor said. The area was canvassed, and no suspects were located.
