I’m Jeff Kanan and I’ll be blogging this week for the first time ever. As a freshman intern (or as I like to think of it, redshirt freshman), I get my turn at the features desk and a chance to lend my voice to entertainment issues. I’m more of a sports guy myself, but I’m ready to put on my best features face for this blog.
My first couple weeks at MSU have been highlighted by people’s overall friendliness and willingness to help. Hopefully the rest of the semester stays this way.
But enough with the pleasantries – let’s get down to business. I am an old-school kind of guy. I listen to old music and enjoy watching old movies. I was brought up that way and haven’t seen much of a reason to change. I’m a classic rocker and a ’70s film watcher.
Every form of entertainment I participate in is outdated. Whether it be music, movies, TV shows, or the weather – everything besides sports – I am behind. Well, occasionally I get around to seeing a new movie, but that’s about it.
When my friends talk about the latest releases, it’s like I’m not even there.
“Did you listen to the latest 50 Cent album?” Nope. “I heard that new ‘Halloween’ flick was pretty good.” Time to zone out.
