MSU golfer receives All-America honor

MSU senior Heather Rose was named an All-American Scholar by the National Golf Coaches Association on Monday. It is the third year she has received the honor, while becoming the 24th Spartan to ever win the award.

The criteria for the award consists of having a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.5 and the athlete must participate in at least 50 percent of the school's regularly-scheduled competitive rounds during the season.

A total of 368 female collegiate golfers are recognized with this honor. Rose is a three-time Academic All-Big Ten selection and played the best golf of her career in her senior season. She posted a career-low 76.72 strokes per round and finished in the top 20 at the Big Ten Tournament for the third time in her career.
