Upset because he was late for a class, a 20-year-old MSU student kicked a railroad light and was arrested for his actions, MSU police Sgt. Florene McGlothian-Taylor said.On Tuesday, between 1:20-3:10 p.m., the student and a witness were stopped by a train at Mt. Hope Road and Farm Lane. When the train passed, the gate rail would not go back up. The student approached the rail arm and kicked it, breaking the electrical tape holding one of three lights on the rail, McGlothian-Taylor said.The witness called police and gave a description of the student who was then walking northbound on Farm Lane. Police made contact and arrested the individual who informed police he kicked the light because he was upset and running late for a class, McGlothian-Taylor said. An employee for the CSX railroad company informed police they would have to replace all three lights because they were connected. The case has been forwarded to the Ingham County Prosecutor's Office, McGlothian-Taylor said.An MSU employee was struck by a motorcycle at the intersection of North Shaw Lane and Bogue Street on Tuesday at about 8:16 p.m., McGlothian-Taylor said.Evelone L. Herman, a secretary in the Business College Complex, was crossing from north to south in a marked pathway in front of the Eppley Center when the motorcyclist, a 56-year-old woman, collided with Herman, McGlothian-Taylor said. The motorcyclist said she had sun in her eyes and could not see Herman walking in the crosswalk. Both women were taken to Lansing's Sparrow Hospital, McGlothian-Taylor said.The motorcyclist was released Tuesday. However, Herman is still in critical condition, McGlothian-Taylor said.A Domino's Pizza, 3330 Lake Lansing Road, was involved in an armed robbery at about 11:37 p.m. Tuesday, according to a news release from Meridian Township Police Department.The suspect demanded money from the employee manning the cash register and fled on foot. He was described to be between 19-22 years old, 6 feet 2 inches tall and wearing a white shirt and black jeans. His vehicle was described as a black Chevy Trailblazer and was driven by an unidentified female.
