Both Bristow, Turner's comments unnecessary

In regard to the incident between protesters and Kyle Bristow at the illegal immigration meeting last Thursday, it is very unfortunate that the protesters resorted to physical violence as indicated in "Protesters crash immigration event" (SN 12/1). Resorting to such measures is a display of serious immaturity, and it has no place at MSU — or anywhere for that matter.

These actions also give Kyle Bristow and his band of radicals, the Young Americans for "Freedom," undeserved publicity. Additionally, it gives MSU unneeded negative publicity.

Just before writing this letter, I watched Fox News cover this story, and during an interview, State News reporter Kris Turner represented our university so nicely by claiming we have a history of such civil disturbances and once again brought up the riots of years past as an example. Thank you, Mr. Turner.

Regardless of the fact that physical violence was totally uncalled for in this incident, so are Bristow's absurd comments. These people were not racists, nor were they radical leftists.

They were merely a bunch of people who were emotionally fed up with the racist rhetoric spewed by the likes of Bristow, the supporters of the MCRI, etc. It angers me to hear these people claim they support diversity and equality. It's a joke.

Mr. Bristow, you are a racist, you are a radical "rightist," and most of all, you are a liar to claim that those protesters were racist.
