Former boss: Coach will do job 'the right way'

November 28, 2006

When Dantonio was a graduate assistant at Ohio State from 1983-84, the head coach was Earle Bruce, a 2002 inductee to the College Football Hall of Fame. On Monday, the 75-year-old former coach spoke praises of the Spartans' new head man.

"You're getting a very quality football coach and a very quality guy," Bruce said in a phone interview with The State News. "He knows the game, he teaches the game, he most certainly respects the game of football and will do things the right away.

"He has great rapport with the players and I'll think he'll be dedicated to the university to no end."
