Men's soccer travels to play Oakland today

October 4, 2006

Before heading to Ann Arbor on Sunday for a rivalry game against Michigan, the MSU men's soccer team will travel to Oakland for a 4 p.m. game today. The Spartans (6-3-1 overall, 0-2-1 Big Ten) are led by junior forward Kenzo Webster, who has recorded six of MSU's 10 goals this season.

While the Spartans haven't won any conference games yet, they have outshot their opponents 135-101.

Oakland (3-8-0, 1-2-0 Mid-Con) suffered a 1-0 loss to Valparaiso on Sept. 30. Last season, the Grizzlies carried a 10-9-0 overall, 4-3-0 Mid-Con record and beat the Spartans 1-0. MSU holds a 2-6 record against Oakland since 1998.

The Spartans have one win in their last four games.
