An 18-year-old Campbell Hall resident had $75 in cash stolen from his wallet while he napped Tuesday. When the victim returned from class at about 11:30 a.m., he set his brown leather 2005 Relic wallet on his desk and took a nap with the door unlocked, MSU police Sgt. Florene McGlothian-Taylor said. When he awoke at 12:20 p.m., the wallet was gone. The item was found hours later in a trash bin in the residence hall's basement laundry room, but the cash was no longer inside, McGlothian-Taylor said. There are no suspects in this case.An empty gasoline container was lodged under a CATA bus Tuesday after it fell off the back of a university-owned vehicle. At 8:47 a.m., the bus was traveling on Shaw Lane when the container fell from the open tailgate of a four-wheel "Gator," McGlothian-Taylor said. The 33-year-old bus driver said he didn't recognize the item at first and didn't have enough time to stop before it became lodged under the bus's rear axle. As the container was dragged, a small amount of gasoline spilled onto the pavement and was later cleaned up by the East Lansing Fire Department.Maggie Lillis
