A 56-year-old male MSU employee reported a computer and keyboard missing between about 10 a.m. July 19 and 7:30 a.m. Tuesday in Wells Hall. "The employee noticed the keyboard missing as he was checking the computers in the room," MSU police Sgt. Florene McGlothian-Taylor said. The employee then checked the computer labs in the building and noticed a Dell computer was missing and the security cable had been cut, she said. The missing items are worth about $1,225.A 46-year-old male MSU employee reported fishing equipment taken between 5 p.m. on June 19 and 8 p.m. on June 20 at the Natural Science Building. About 2,000 pieces of fishing lure accessories were placed on the employee's desk, McGlothian-Taylor said. The door was locked when the employee came back, and there were no signs of forced entry, she said. The equipment is worth about $400.A 21-year-old female MSU student reported a man she was dating committed fourth degree criminal sexual conduct between 1-4:45 a.m. Tuesday in Spartan Village. The student was sleeping when the man started touching her inappropriately, and she called police because she was upset and wanted to know her options, McGlothian-Taylor said. There was no penetration, McGlothian-Taylor said.A 47-year-old female MSU employee reported her wallet taken from her purse between 1:30-2:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Heritage Cafe in the Union. The woman went to eat at the Union, bringing her purse and umbrella with her. She left without them, and later that day the items were returned to her, McGlothian-Taylor said. The wallet, which contained several forms of identification and cash, was the only thing missing from the purse, McGlothian-Taylor said. The wallet and contents are worth about $40.A 23-year-old female MSU student reported to police that the man she was dating, a 33-year-old male Lansing resident, slapped her between 3:30-4:30 a.m. Tuesday at her room in West Owen Hall. "The officer was approaching the parking lot at Owen when the (Lansing resident) came to him and told him he had a falling out with his girlfriend and needed some property (from her room)," McGlothian-Taylor said. The student allowed the man to get the property and told police the man had slapped the left side of her face earlier, McGlothian-Taylor said. The student said she didn't want to prosecute and police are contacting a potential witness.Lindsey Poisson
