A 39-year-old male construction worker reported several tools taken from the back of his pickup truck between 4 p.m. July 17 and 4 p.m. July 18 at the southwest corner of Service Road and Farm Lane. The tools were in a toolbox in the back of a truck, MSU police Sgt. Florene McGlothian-Taylor said. The items stolen included a portable band saw, three hand drills and a tape measure. The items are worth about $1,378.A 14-year-old male reported his cell phone stolen between July 11 and July 12 while he was staying in Wilson Hall for a summer camp. "He had several people coming in and out of his room," MSU police Sgt. Paul Kuchek said. The cell phone is worth about $200.A 44-year-old male grounds keeper reported three plant pots destroyed between July 14 and July 17 at Cowles House. The pots were taken from the porch and smashed on the sidewalk, Kuchek said. The pots are worth about $75.A 22-year-old male MSU student reported his textbook stolen between Wednesday and Thursday from Wells Hall. The student left the book unattended for about 24 hours, Kuchek said. Bookstores in the area have been notified about the book in case it is sold back, he said. The textbook is worth about $100.A 30-year-old woman is suspected of committing fraud April 5 at the MSU Museum gift shop. The woman wrote three checks from an account that was closed five months prior to the purchase, Kuchek said. The checks totaled about $170.A 20-year-old female MSU student reported her car damaged between 8 a.m. and 12:40 p.m. Thursday in Lot 74 near Holden Hall. The driver's side mirror was broken, Kuchek said. The damage is estimated at about $200.A 37-year-old male MSU employee reported his parking permit stolen between 8 a.m. and 7 p.m. Wednesday. The employee left the top down on his convertible, making it easy for someone to peel it off, Kuchek said. Lindsey Poisson
