Two women reported money stolen from their locked rooms between 12:55-5 p.m. Monday at West Akers Hall. One of the women, a 17-year-old Adrian resident, reported four $20 bills taken from her purse, which was placed near the window, MSU police Sgt. Florene McGlothian-Taylor said. There were no signs of forced entry, but the women reported the door was locked shortly before the money was discovered missing, McGlothian-Taylor said. The other woman, an 18-year-old Sand Creek resident, reported three $20 bills stolen from her wallet, which was in her suitcase on the floor.A 20-year-old male MSU student reported his cell phone stolen between 3-4:30 p.m. Sunday at the International Center. "He left his cell phone on a table for about 10 minutes, and when he came back, it was gone," McGlothian-Taylor said. The silver Verizon LG 6100 was worth about $50.A 31-year-old male Portland resident reported a gas leak between 11:05-11:10 a.m. Monday on Dormitory Road, west of Bogue Street. While digging with a backhoe, the Portland resident ruptured a gas pipe, McGlothian-Taylor said. The East Lansing Fire Department and MSU Office of Radiation, Chemical and Biological Safety responded to the scene and determined the buildings did not need to be evacuated, she said. The pipe was repaired by Consumers Energy.A 66-year-old male MSU employee reported his parking pass stolen between 1-2:30 p.m. Monday in Lot 58 near the Physical Plant Building and Department of Parking and Public Safety Building. The removable pass was taken from the man's white 2-door 1972 MG convertible, which had its top down, McGlothian-Taylor said. The pass was worth about $25.A 21-year-old female MSU student reported her bicycle damaged between 6:30 p.m. Friday and 8:30 p.m. Sunday in Lot 91 near Fee and Hubbard halls. The student said four back tire spokes on her Schwinn bicycle were cut in half, McGlothian-Taylor said. The damage is about $50.Lindsey Poisson
