The Big Green online magazine will host An Afternoon of Hope, as an alternative to the neo-Nazi rally and protests being held in Lansing on April 22.

The Benefit Bash will be held from 2 to 6 p.m. at Valley Court Park behind Beaner's on West Grand River Avenue in East Lansing. The event will include performances from The Family Tree, La Famiglia, Brant from Rootstand, Molly-Jean, the Accafellas and The Hassan Malouf Jazz Band. The event is free, but a $5 donation is suggested. There also will be a silent auction. The event's proceeds will go to the Starfish Greathearts Foundation.
